Whispering Light of My Being
You glanced my way, my Love,
A mere turn of the eyes towards me.
The flintstone of Divinity was ignited;
Love roared and flamed within, spontaneously.
There is nothing I need do, You said,
Save become aware of Me, and
Follow the cues of Thy — my — body,
Learn from the Wisdom rising in me.
Oh Goddess the bride of my being,
Oh Light that clears the way,
My Beloved who re-strings this instrument,
Who makest the dark into day,
Hold me steady in the flames of the Phoenix;
Plant flowers in the sod of my soul.
Teach me my value and purpose,
The perspective of the Cosmos as a whole.
Show me Thy greatness within me,
The Truth of all that I am;
Counsel me on this expanding journey,
The lion who sleeps with the lamb.
And in my quiet moments,
When I am alone with Thee,
Sing sweet harmonies of joy,
Whispering Thy presence that I may see.
